If you would like to experience what it’s like to fly, you can do a 30 minute Trial Introductory Flight (TIF) in our Pipistrel Alpha Trainer which will help you to determine if becoming a pilot is for you.  A free RA-Aus temporary membership is issued which covers you for 28 days membership or 3 hours flying training (whichever comes first) and insurance.

Student Pilot Certificate

The student pilot joining fee is $210.00 to RA-Aus; which includes the issue of the Student Pilot Certificate, third party insurance cover, Operations and Technical Manuals, first 12 months RA-Aus membership.

The student pilot certificate enables you to train for your pilot certificate.

Pilot Certificate

It is possible to obtain a Pilot Certificate with a minimum of 20 hours flight training (including minimum 5 hours solo.  This allows you to act as the pilot in command of an RA-Aus registered aircraft within a 25 nautical mile (NM) radius of the airport.

Passenger Carrying Endorsement

After you achieve 10 hours as pilot in command, you can attempt the passenger carrying endorsement.  This allows you to take one passenger.
